'The home of amateur winemaking in Vancouver'


THE MEETINGS SCHEDULE

Meetings are normally held at 8:00 pm on the second Thursday of each month except July and August at the Scottish Cultural Centre, 8886 Hudson Street, Vancouver. A door fee of $10 for members and $12 for guests is charged to cover the cost of hosting the presentation speaker, providing tasting wines, hall rental, snacks and door prizes. The normal agenda is outlined below. Details of the proposed Technical Forum topic and Feature Presentation are available from the monthly newsletter issued in the week preceeding the meeting.

Anyone interested in finding out more about us is welcome to attend a meeting as a guest. Membership information is also available on this site.


THE MEETING AGENDA

   
Early Technical Session
7:15 pm — 7:50 pm
Either a presentation on a specific technical issue or an open question & answer session about winemaking technique. This session takes place on the Lower Level of the Scottish Cultural Centre. An experienced senior member is always scheduled to be on hand.
 
Business & Announcements
8:00 pm — 8:20 pm
The regular meeting is brought to order and any outstanding business matters are addressed.
Hosted by VAWA's current President.
 
Feature Presentation - Guest Speaker
8:30 pm — 10:00 pm
Guest speakers, often industry experts, offer insights and advice.
 
Mini Competition
after feature presentation
An optional informal blind judging of members' wines.
 
Social Gathering
10:00 pm — 10:30 pm

Snacks are served and mini competition entries are made available to taste.
