- June 14, 2008 - VAWA Annual Garden Party, to be held at the home of Clem Joyce, 6591 Comstock Road, Richmond, starting at 5:00 PM on Saturday June 14th. This is a member and guest (1) only event. Those attending should bring beverages and lawn chairs. To sign up, please e-mail Al Lewis. A copy of the Sign-up Sheet has been posted online.
- April 12, 2008 - VAWA Wine Competition and 37th Annual VAWA Awards Banquet & Dance. Bottle entry opens March 15th and closes March 29th. See Wine Class Descriptions, 2008 Competition Regulations and On-line Registration.
- February 24, 2008 - Educational seminar sponsored by BCAWA. Starts at 9:00 am at Cheers Restaurant, 125 East 2nd Street, North Vancouver. See here for details.
- December 13, 2007 - VAWA Christmas Meeting,
featuring a programme on “Wine and Chocolate” by Brian Foreman of the Vancouver American Wine Society.
As in years past, it will be a pot-luck of appetizers and desserts.
Please note there is a change in room - this year we will be in our regular upstairs meeting room rather than the main floor ballroom. In order to ensure that an appropriate amount of wine is available, we need an accurate count of those planning to attend. If you wish to attend the Christmas meeting, please check that you are included in the sign-up page. For those wishing to participate in the optional Bottle Exchange, please wrap up one of your best wines and ensure that your bottle is labelled with (at least) the name of the winemaker and the type of wine.
- June 23, 2007 - VAWA Annual Garden Party, to be held this year at the home of John and Janet McMaster, 8540 Fairdell Crescent, Richmond, at 5:00 PM on Saturday June 23rd. This is a member and guest (1) only event. This year, appetizers will be supplied by the Members-at-Large. Those attending should bring beverages, lawn chairs and salad or dessert for 6 - 8 people. - June 1, 2007 -VAWA monthly meeting to be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, June 1st rather than on the second Thursday of the month. In addition to the normal program, there will be a Meet & Greet preceding the provincial competition.
